The Indian Youth Friendship Society together with the Thunder Bay Urban Aboriginal Strategy are seeking a Social Survey Researcher / Consultant to conduct research and prepare a “Community Mapping” document of individual First Nations communities that are being serviced by Northern Ontario Courts. This document will provide members of the judiciary with knowledge of the systemic background of individual communities and a clear listing of available services and programming. The successful applicant will begin January , 2013 and complete the assignment March 31, 2013.

Two special community gatherings are taking place in Thunder Bay this week, to get the community’s input on the future of Aboriginal families and children in the city.

Today. TBUAS Strategy Planner, Frances Wesley was presented with the prestigious Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal during a ceremony at the Prince Arthur Hotel. Wesley was among 30 residents from the Northwest region to receive the prestigious medal in this afternoon.

Today, Shkoday Abinojiiwak Obimiwedoon announced the end of its BIWAASE’AA Program which, for the last eight years, has provided much-needed educational, nutritional, emotional and spiritual support to hundreds of children in need in Thunder Bay.
