Today. TBUAS Strategy Planner, Frances Wesley was presented with the prestigious Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal during a ceremony at the Prince Arthur Hotel. Wesley was among 30 residents from the Northwest region to receive the prestigious medal in this afternoon.
The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal honours significant contributions and achievements by 60,000 outstanding Canadians of all ages and from all walks of life, who have built and continue to build this caring society and country through their service and achievements. This medal pays special tribute to Queen Elizabeth II's 60 years on the throne and honours her life-long commitment to her responsibilities, by recognizing those who have made significant contributions to Ontario and Canada.
Wesley is being recognized for her dedication and strong commitment to the Aboriginal community. Wesley has been working with the TBUAS since 2004, helping to develop the initiative in Thunder Bay, and is also known for her efforts as a member of the Racism Committee for the City of Thunder Bay.
